Riverside, CA. –The University of Antelope Valley Men's baseball team finished their weekend series on the road with La Sierra yesterday in Riverside, California.
Game 1: UAV 12 – LSU 4
The Pioneers came into Sunday's game against the Eagles looking for another victory after splitting Friday's double header with LSU. UAV went scoreless through the first five innings of play and trailed LSU by a score of 3-0. The top of the sixth inning of play would see the Pioneers take over the game in convincing fashion. Darron Tesonhad a single and Mikey Pereznegronhad a double to get the wheels rolling for the Pioneers. Adam Maciel's single led to the first run of the game being scored by Darron Teson. Tyler Pittmon hit a three run home run over the center field fence on a 3-1 count that led to scores by Pereznegron and Maciel. Jake Harrison had a single to centerfield leading to William Garcia scoring a run and UAV taking a 5-3 lead.Adam Maciel hit a 2 run home run over the right field fence on a 1-0 count in the top of the seventh inning that led to a runscored by Mikey Pereznegron. Travis Holm hit a two run home run over the right field fence in the top of the eighth inning, giving the Pioneers three home runs on the day and a 12-4 victory over the Eagles.
The Pioneers will take onBenedictine University at Mesa in Mesa, Arizona for double headerCalPac conference action on April 14th.
