Lancaster, CA. – The University of Antelope Valley women's basketball team added another seasoned veteran in Los Angeles native Jasmine Joseph. Joseph joins the Pioneers and will play as a graduate student while working towards her Master's Degree in Business Administration. "We are anxious for Jasmine to join us in the fall as she will provide our team with depth at the guard position," Head Coach Jason Pruitt said. "She is a great student, a great leader and has a winning mentality." During her high school career, Joseph played at Serra High School in Gardena, California. While there she was a part of a program that won the CIF Southern Section twice. She was the Defensive player of the year and served as a team Captain while picking up MVP & Most Dedicated honors. After high school Joseph attended Merced College where she was a part of a 19-win season. Jasmine transferred to Bethesda University to play for coach Pruitt for the next two seasons. During her first year, she was on Bethesda's first team to reach the Western Region Playoffs. As a sophomore, she was a member of the team that made it to NCCAA National Championship game. Earlier in that season she played a huge part in Bethesda's first win against a NCAA nationally ranked opponent.
Joseph is also an active member in our military and is very involved in the community. She volunteers at the Skid Row Kitchen and is an active member in her church.
