Lancaster, CA – The UAV Pioneers women's basketball team added another post player to their incoming 2017 recruiting class.
Dakota Oliver, from Bakersfield, California signed a national letter of intent to join the Pioneers basketball team this fall. Oliver will be continuing her career at UAV after completing a solid sophomore season at College of the Sequoias. Oliver started 27 of 29 games for the College of the Sequoias Giants and nearly averaged a double-double with 10.8 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per game. Oliver also added 2.9 blocks per game. The addition of Oliver will provide with depth in the Pioneers front court, something that head coach Jason Pruitt is very excited about as he prepares for his second season at the helm.
"Dakota has tremendous upside. She is tough defensively and has the ability to stretch the floor offensively," said Coach Pruitt. "Dakota will be another strong inside presence for us on the boards and can hit the mid-range jumper. Anytime you can get a player over six feet tall that has her skill set, it's a winning situation. The good thing about Dakota is that she is experienced and ready to play right away!"
Dakota will be majoring in Criminal Justice.
