Athletic Training Staff:
Head Athletic Trainer: Jayme Wright
Assistant Athletic Trainer: Sara Gralitzer
Jayme Wright is the Head Athletic Trainer for the University of Antelope Valley. Jayme graduated from Weber State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training in 2001, while working as a student athletic trainer for the Wildcats. She successfully completed her Master’s Degree in Exercise Science from Utah State University in 2003, where she worked as a graduated assistant athletic trainer for the Aggies.
Following graduation, Wright helped establish a successful physical therapy clinic for Utah Pain and Rehab for eight years before moving to California. She has specialized training in sports conditioning and nutrition, myofasical release and joint mobilization, K-tape certified and post-surgical rehabilitation. Jayme's experience includes working with collegiate football, basketball, volleyball, soccer, track and field, gymnastics, softball, baseball and tennis, as well as high school athletics.
Wright grew up playing numerous sports but her true love is softball. She is able to bring both aspects of being the athlete and the athletic trainer to the table to help make appropriate decisions regarding athletes’ treatments from injuries and injury prevention. She absolutely loves her job and her athletes and hopes to continue to build a successful athletic program at University of Antelope Valley.
Lieah is the assistant trainer in her 1st year at UAV. Lieah completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with emphasis in Athletic Training at San Diego State University in 2012. In her final semester at SDSU she completed Emergency Medical Technician training at Miramar College and became a Nationally Registered EMT and a Certified Athletic Trainer in January 2013.
Lieah has worked as an independently contracted First Aid and Emergency Responder for many youth sport organizations and tournaments in San Diego county while also working at Rancho Bernardo High School as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. Lieah left San Diego and continued her education at East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania where she gained experience as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer for ESU’s Field Hockey and Womens Lacrosse teams. Upon graduation in 2015 from the Advanced Clinical Practicum in Athletic Training Master’s program, Lieah was brought on to the staff where she worked full-time in the athletic training clinic caring for injured athletes.
Lieah’s priority is the health and safety of all the athletes she works with, and wants to see them succeed, not only on the field but in their endeavors beyond their sport as well. She resides in Palmdale with her husband and looks forward to any day she can get out to go hiking or bouldering.
